EVERY WEDNESDAY IN OUR PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP, BOUNCELAB, WE INTERVIEW AMAZING WOMEN FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE. RECENTLY WE INTERVIEWED DEBBIE KING, WHOSE POWERHOUSE MOVES ON THE TRACK ARE JUST PART OF A FULL LIFE AS MOM, WIFE AND JOURNALIST. HERE IS AN OVERVIEW OF OUR INTERVIEW WITH HER:

Rocking your career but sometimes find it hard to escape your desk long enough to fit in a workout? Dealing with mommy guilt when you do manage to exercise? Debbie King can relate.

The mother, wife, journalist, Master’s track athlete and Būband Brand Ambassador may manage to make time for what she values most, but it isn't always smooth sailing along the way.

“One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that nothing ever looks perfect,” says Debbie, also known as Supafitmama on social media.

“There is no perfect time to start something, there’s no perfect routine that works out day after day or that can be sustained year after year. So I’ve really learned to be adaptable,” she says.

If all goes according to plan – and it doesn't always – Debbie’s training schedule requires her to be on the track twice a week (which can take up to 5 hours each session), the gym once a week and a yoga class once a week. But she says her passion for her sport motivates her to make the time and space in her life to reach her goals.

“I’m so passionate about it. I want to get out there, I want to push myself, I want to see what I can do and I know I need to take all the steps and fulfill all the actions towards that to really see what I am at my best,” she says.

“If you’re the type of person with a desire to move, then that’s a part of your true self, part of your authentic self and it’s important to honor that and not feel like it’s something that needs to take a back seat to all the other people you are to everyone else.”

Debbie King shows off the hardware at the Canadian Masters Athletics Track & Field Indoor Championships, where she took home two golds, two bronze, and a fourth-place finish.
