SWORKIT (my favorite!)
Simple, easy-to-follow workouts targeting different body areas, workout types and fitness goals that you can customize to create your own routine. Workouts are available for everything from yoga to weights, abs to arms and beginner to advanced. My favorite feature is emailing when I complete my workout to my long-distance workout buddy.

Apple Health installs automatically with your iPhone iOS since version 8; honestly, I totally ignored it until recently when I discovered all its features. Health tracks and analyzes four key health and fitness areas: Activity, Nutrition, Sleep and Mindfulness, and syncs with your iPhone, Apple Watch, and third-party apps to track all your data in one convenient place.

Couch to 5K
This app helps beginning runners train for their first 5K in just 30 minutes a day, three days per week, for nine weeks.

Available for both iOS and Android, Jefit keeps track of your weight-lifting routines and lets you personalize any routine from 2,000 workouts.

Charity Miles
Charity Miles helps you get fit and make an impact by earning money for charity when you walk, run, bike and otherwise track your fitness. Users have already raised over $2,000,000!

With over 70 million routes, MapMyRun is perfect for finding new runs in your neighborhood, or exploring popular running routes when you travel.

Pocket Yoga
You can practice yoga anytime, anywhere with Pocket Yoga. With poses for all levels and skills taught by experienced yogis, you can take a yoga class wherever you are.

FIT Radio
Do you like to workout to music? This music-streaming app specializes in DJ-created mixes that maintain a consistent beat. You can browse mixes by genre, DJ, or type of workout, such as Spin, Zumba, or yoga. NOTE: FIT Radio is free, but with the free level you get limited music and mixes; paid upgrades are available.

Count calories from home-cooked meals to takeout: MyFitness Pal also has a barcode feature to can scan just about any product and instantly give you a breakdown of what you’re about to eat.

Tinder for the gym! This app helps you find a new workout buddy. #DidYouKnow: People who work out with a partner exercise 200% longer than those doing it alone.
